Welcome to my fundraising page.  In December Team Sparrow will be running in Memphis, TN at the St Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend.  No, no, I am not running a marathon, but some will.  I completed my marathon in 2015 after I finished treatment for breast cancer (not the running kind).  That was no sprint, but a year of surgery and treatments that honestly, did not end there.  In 2025 I was able to finish taking a medication I had been on for almost 10 years and saw my oncologist for the last time in August.  When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was 39 years old and my kids were only 10 & 12.  We have come a long way since then, as has Sparrow's Nest.  They started in 2013 feeding less than 20 people and are now feeding over 300 people a week.  Their mission is to feed families with cancer.  Our fundraising efforts help to feed these families.  To provide sweet treats during holidays.  A bit of comfort and normalcy in an otherwise uncomfortable and far from normal time of their lives.

I thank you all for your donations so far.  I have a couple of fundraisers coming up, but if you prefer to make a direction donation to the organization, you can do so by clicking the donate button on the right side of the page.  This year's Super Bowl fundraiser brought in $1600, putting me over the halway point!  A few other donations and shirt says and I am almost at 60% raised.  No amount is ever too small, it all adds up. 

This is my 5th destination run with Sparrow's Nest and I think it will be an emotional one as we will be running through the hospital in Memphis and see their smallest of cancer patients. A portion of our fundraising will also go to St. Jude.  Thank you all for your continued support.  Without this community, Sparrow's Nest could not feed families fighting cancer.
